Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Turn off your Furnace immediately at the thermostat to prevent damage
Check and replace the Furnace air filter if dirty to improve airflow
Verify all Furnace supply registers are open and not blocked by furniture
Check the Furnace blower motor operation to ensure it is moving air properly
Call for emergency Furnace service as overheating can cause system failure
