Follow these emergency steps in order. If at any point you feel unsafe, evacuate and call for help immediately.
Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Turn off the Furnace and wait 5 minutes before attempting to restart
Listen for the Furnace ignitor clicking or glowing when the system calls for heat
Check the Furnace gas supply valve is in the fully open position
Inspect the Furnace ignitor for visible cracks or damage
Call for Furnace service if the ignition does not occur after several attempts
