Follow these emergency steps in order. If at any point you feel unsafe, evacuate and call for help immediately.

Safety First

If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.

Turn off your Furnace to prevent potential system damage from overpressure

Check the Furnace pressure gauge reading and compare to normal operating range

Verify the Furnace expansion tank is not waterlogged or failed

Bleed excess pressure from the Furnace system only if you know the correct procedure
