Follow these emergency steps in order. If at any point you feel unsafe, evacuate and call for help immediately.
Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Turn off your Furnace to allow frost to thaw naturally
Check Furnace for proper airflow both supply and return
Verify the Furnace defrost cycle is activating as designed
Inspect the Furnace for dirty coils that may impede heat transfer
Call for Furnace service if frost continues to accumulate after thawing
