Follow these emergency steps in order. If at any point you feel unsafe, evacuate and call for help immediately.
Safety First
If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see sparks, evacuate immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to operate your system if you suspect a safety issue.
Check the Furnace emergency shut-off switch to ensure it hasn't been bumped off
Verify the Furnace circuit breaker hasn't tripped and attempt one reset
Look at the Furnace control board for flashing LED error codes
Check if the Furnace has a safety lockout that requires manual reset
If the Furnace remains shut down, call for emergency service immediately
